Debate Class
On Thursday third grade English UOI students had a debate!
Right now third grade is learning about agriculture and farming in UOI. In class we have been discussing the fact that Japanese people are eating less rice and less vegetables compared to 50 years ago.
In groups the students were tasked with making arguments about why it is GOOD or BAD that Japanese people eat less rice and vegetables. Each group had to make a presentation using Google Slides and then present their arguments in front of the class.
While the other students were watching their classmates do their presentations, they had to complete feedback sheets talking about what they learned, and which opinions they agreed with. Some of the arguments were difficult to create reasons for but every team had fun presenting to their friends!
