Hello! My name is Joy Cario, the homeroom teacher for 7A.
The new term has started, but we were also active during summer, so I’d like to introduce the classes the 7th graders took during summer vacation.
First period, bright and early, the students split off into their English classes. This summer, the students could choose between four different English themed classes: Listening and speaking, reading and speaking, writing and speaking, and writing and grammar.
We went with a performance theme in the reading, listening and speaking. For both classes, the idea was to practice emotion and tone through different types of storytelling.
In the reading, writing, and grammar classes, the students focused on improving their grammar through creative means.
In the second hour, students reviewed and did some exercises in Geometry’s 「天空への数学」or “Math bound for Heaven” class.
And finally, in the short, but productive day, students had Japanese class. Here, they compared and contrasted the different ways that different types of stories show expressions. In the end, students did their own investigation and gave a report in small groups.
And finally, it was time to go home and enjoy the break (and do some homework)!
